Clearcutting is still a common and devastating forestry practice in Europe. The regulation of clearcutting is crucial for climate and biodiversity protection.
In addition to interesting information about the extent and impact of clearcutting in Europe, we will discuss how European solutions can be achieved.

It is therefore with great pleasure that I am inviting you to the presentation and discussion of a study I commissioned on the ecological effects of clear-cutting in European Forests as well as the policy, legal and socio-economic aspects of clearcutting regulation in the European Union.
